The reason I've finally gotten to doing this and sharing with others on Facebook is cuz I realize I'm not alone here in this journey. I've heard so many women telling me that they have 25 pounds or less to eliminate... and others who've had this challenge most of their lives and may have 50, 100 or even a couple of hundred pounds they'd like to eliminate. I hear how women do the yo-yo dieting ~ the lose, they gain. What I want to do here is encourage eating and moving sustainably! I know for me, I USED to go walking in the hills almost every day. I STILL go to class every Monday evening, BUT, since I've gotten married AND do much of my work on my computer, I sit more than I move. I enjoy Monday nights considerably yet, all we do or have done in those classes... well, I do at home; I HAVE all the toys and, I play with them yet, obviously not consistently. If I had, I'd be at my ideal weight, yet, one thing I know, everything happens for a reason and, currently, I feel my reason is to assist others in healing their issues with food, with not moving and with getting stuffs done! It's all in the same plan, isn't it? Oh yeah! Why I'm doing this now! I had gotten a hula hoop a few years ago... say, about 4 ... and, every once-in-awhile I actually pick it up. I've gotten to where I could keep it spinning around my waist for quite some time. Then, I received a meetup notice that there was a new hooping meetup. I signed up for it fully intending to go yet, they hold it on a Sunday afternoon in Griffith Park. Now, Griffith at any time is a pita to get into. Sunday? At noon? NUTS! I went one day, in the winter and sat in a line of cars just at the entrance to the park, until I decided, not worth my time. Ah well. Then, I received notice that there was another hooping meetup. Signed up for that and BAM!!!! Melanie makes it EASY to find; it's at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings, before we get to what can be (for me) extreme SoCal heat AND, free and easy parking ~ and lots of it! She also holds classes during the week ~ again, easy to get to, free and easy parking... I'm in!!! Other goodies? She's an adult and not one of these cute little 20 year olds who picked up a hoop and began doing tricks without so much as a nail breaking. She learned the hard way, like me; has patience and her arms are to live for! What this means is, I'm attending class at least 3 times a week, 90 minutes each and, hooping is so fun, I've been doing it EVERY day at home, even on days when I go to class! It may not seem like it when you actually see me hoop yet, it is what it is and it's FUN! Suggestion: do as I'm doing ~ find something fun to do whether it's yoga, hooping, Zumba, running, etc. Get out and PLAY! Eat well! (We'll be discussing that as well) and be sure to get enough sleep! Most of all, enjoy life! Enjoy who you are right here, right now. Life is good if you choose it to be.
