I'm really glad to be here.
I came across Revvell on Alissa Cohen's Raw Food Talk forum, and found Revvell's posts to be knowledgeable and funny. I admire her entrepreneurial spirit, and think her writings about the link between emotions and overeating are spot on--I also like very much her emphasis on exercise.
About me--I'm 53, married to a wonderful guy (Mike) who is a cartographer, guitarist, gardener, and exercise buff. We met on an online dating site, so yes, it does work! Mike is wonderfully supportive of me and the things I do for self-improvement, and I return the favor.
We share our home with two cats, one of whom is a dignified old lady (Sweetie) and the other of whom is an energetic young upstart (Bella). They get along well, although it took a few months of hissing and boxing matches before the hierarchy was established, with Sweetie as alpha kitty. Bella is a special needs cat-she has one eye and missing one of her back feet. This does not stop her from racing around the house, tearing up and down stairs, and enjoying life. We adopted Bella over the 2009 Labor Day weekend. We have had Sweetie for years--we adopted her as a stray kitten on Dec. 31, 1996.
I work as a librarian in the federal government, and teach kundalini yoga on the side. I've been vegetarian for decades, and went raw two years ago. Unlike many, I didn't do it to lose weight--I did it to make my health even better than it was as a vegetarian. It's been successful.

I also did it because the food looked so sensational--and it is!

I've always been a foodie and it is great that I can continue being one with raw foods.
Recently I completed a holistic nutrition course. I learned a lot, but won't go on to get the "certification" so that I could put some initials after my name. I took the course to increase my knowledge of nutrition so that I could help myself, my husband, and any friends who might ask for advice--and some have.
I enjoy literature, the arts, travel, yoga (I like ashtanga yoga as well as kundalini yoga and think that these two schools of yoga complement each other well), exercise (hiking, cycling, and lifting weights), and reading about food and preparing it.
Congrats to Revvell for the fruition of Bodacious Living, and thanks very much for this site.
Cheers,
Betsy
