Double Pea Soup 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago
My mother use to serve pea soup every new year's day. She said it would guarantee we'd have money throughout the year. Guess it worked. We always had money.

2 C. dried split peas
3 C. vegetable broth or filtered water
2 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. cumin
3 stalks of celery, with leaves, diced
1 onion, diced
4 large carrots, diced

3/4 bag of frozen, organic peas

* Boil 6-8 cups of water in a large pot.
* Pick through the peas and discard anything besides peas.
* After the water boils, turn off the heat and add peas to soak for at least two hours.
* After the peas are soaked, add the rest of the ingredients except frozen peas. * Cover and bring the water to a boil and simmer for about an hour or until the peas are soft.
* Puree in a high-powered blender.
* Reheat and once hot, add the frozen peas.
