Silent Voices of the Soul by Robin Leigh Vella 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I receive a lot of books to review and when I received this one, I basically put it aside because I have so many others to catch up on and, at first, nothing seemed to draw me ~ then, something did (spirit?).

One reason I wasn't interested was because I'm in the midst of reading another, (to me) boring LOA book which just basically says the same thing I've read in so many others. I'd heard the author speak, I've felt her warmth and received the book as a gift at a conference I'd attended. Now, I'm not saying her book is not good, just saying it's not much different than many others I've read BUT, it will be wonder-filled for those who are just getting started in understanding metaphysical laws.

In the meantime, I did pick up "Silent Voices of the Soul; How to recognize the Spiritual Messages in Everyday Life" and I'm glad I did. Why? Because it's different. It's unique. It relates personal experiences.

In one chapter of "Silent voices...", Robin gives signs of energy depletion such as "Hunger and dehydration ~ Spiritual message: we are neglecting our most basic needs". Yes, I understand that would be basic yet, realizing this, one can look more deeply and ask "why am I doing this"?

She also gives spiritual messages for why we may get headaches, sinus pressure, sudden negative moods and/or behavior changes, exhaustion, etc.

She also asks the question "..how do we react (I prefer the word "respond" because if one is reacting, then it's w/out awareness ~ "response" denotes coming from awareness) peacefully to less than positive circumstances and ... more importantly, how do we refrain from offering a negative response in return?"

This is an important statement to remember ~ "We think of problems as insurmountable obstacles, rather than opportunities for spiritual growth and enlightenment. We dwell on the 'mistakes' and 'wrong decision' we have made instead of the valuable lessons contained within them."

The biggest problem I had with this book was when Robin spoke of incidences in her life without giving a time/date. I often wondered how recent it was and kept wanting to tell her to "wake up!"

One thing is clear, "spirit" (as she calls it) leads us to our best options and opportunities as long as we're available to listen. Since reading this book, I realize how often I hear it's voice ~ in one instance, compelling me to read this book.

Do I highly recommend it? Hmmm... well, I'd say if you have any interest in learning more about how life works; how to listen to your highest good and/or how to realize more happiness in your life... I'd have to say yes.

I'll finish with something in the book ~ "Become Peace".

Injoy,
